The Mathematics and Computer Science department would like to send twelve students to regional conferences! We hope to send eight mathematics majors to the Mathematical Association of America conference and four computer science majors to the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges conference next spring. A total of $1,500 would make the trips possible for all twelve students.
These conferences are a great way for students to present research, to network, and to learn. Students can get a feel for what professionals do in the fields of mathematics and computer science, as well as share their work with other students by giving talks or poster presentations. They would attend sessions to learn about new research and would participate in student competitions. We wish all of our mathematics or computer science majors had an opportunity like this!
